Anime and Me

I know I don't post on this particular blog much, but I am noticing a scary trend for me.  The American Anime industry is turning me into a Fansubs only Fan.  Let me explain why.  Short of one or two titles everything I've had an interest in watching I'm watching Fansubs, which is usual for me.  However the American Industry seems to be only bringing over mostly subs of the anime I am interested in watching.  Sadly that means I've already seen them in Japanese and own them for free. I don't see the reason to spend good money on something I got for free in the first place.

True it is limited to the fact that the subs I have of these shows are on my PC's hard drive, but the fact remains I'm not going to pay the outrageous prices they want for a Subtitled Show on DVD/Blu Ray.  So sadly unless this state changes and more Hybrids are released of the kind of shows I like to view/buy I am not going to be contributing as much money as used to the American Anime Industry since I prefer to buy my anime Hybrid.  I buy it that way if I don't like the dub I can watch it subtitled so that I have all my viewing options covered. Hell I'll even take it Dub Only if I like the series good enough and that's the only way to get it, but I will never buy it Sub Only as I already got it for free from Fansubbers, short of the money expended in having the electricity and computer on to download it.   So what this boils down to is that my support of American brought over anime is dwindling. I noticed as the trends of expensive subs become more easily to obtain then dubs/hybrids of a series so sadly I am thinking I will soon be less of a fan of anime as in truth I prefer to watch the dub.  I miss so much when reading a subtitled piece then watching it in the dub.  If I wanted to read my anime I'd go buy a manga or the novel of the series...again both would be english and the pictures are steady and I can catch everything in the panel of a comic or the passage of a book that I usually miss when watching a subtitle.  Hell they're is context in the form of background characters talking that often aren't always subbed that you miss out on a joke or some other important factor to the series that those background characters foreshadow as I've found watching some of my dubs.  Well I've ranted long enough.   Type more when I have more to type.

Mr. Belvedere

Recently I've been re-watching the show Mr. Belvedere in preparation for watching for the first time, Sitting Pretty, which I am assuming the tv series is based after.  I've seen some clips of the movie and it looks fairly entertaining so I cannot wait to view it when it comes in from amazon.com.

I had forgotten how good some of the episodes of the tv show as I've not seen it since I was a kid.

For those that are interested I have e-novel available for sale.

A Great Loss

Today one of my favorite actors died.  Christopher Lee.  My favorite roles he played as is Count Dracula in Prince of Darkness, Saruman in Lord of the Rings, King Haggard in the Last Unicorn, and he was great narrator and singer in the Rhapsody albums.

Life Update

For those that are interested I've finally been able to start putting money aside for a new car.  So far I have 200.00 saved.  Here's hoping I can save up enough to either get the old one fixed or a new one.  By new one I probably mean another old used car.  I like to own things out right if I can.  I hate the idea of owing money on something I posses. Not a whole lot has been going on with me.  The Matsuri came and went so far and it's already a good start into March.  This week I get to be in charge of FMC since my boss is on Vacation for much of this month. Next week I'll probably mostly be in GM as that's when the boss in the other dept. I am in goes away on her vacation.  I try to work in as many depts at my job as possible so that when summer hits I hope to have some extra hours, as that's when the company starts cutting hours as downtime for the business.  Well not much else to say so I'll type more when I have more to type.
